Those of you who know me personally will know that I am an enthusiastic trail runner. When I am not holding a drill, I can often be located on some mountain path or hillside with my two-footed and four-footed running partners. To me 2020 can be likened to a trail run.
It doesn’t always go according to plan. Sometimes one experiences injuries, poor preparation, lack of motivation, aches and pains, fatigue or terrible weather. Running requires maintenance and small daily disciplines. To be a runner, one needs to run the race. Despite adversity, despite injury, despite terrible weather. It needs to be seen through, bit by bit. The thing is that there is always a next race in which to redeem one-self if things went badly. The key is not to give up. You have to keep going…
This year may have injured some of us financially. We may be fed up with circumstance, frustrated with important events being cancelled or postponed. But the 2020 race is still ongoing and the finish line has to be crossed. Use these last few weeks of the year to finish strongly. Have the courage to face 2021 with hope - It may have wonderful things in store for you!
